Project Creature Design- Aoi Kelpie
This project fold features my creature designs in which I created the concept works and then rendered the designs into 3D models.
Pixie Dust Design
To begin with I have the stylized cute version of a Creature Design.I went with the theme of Pixie Dust and drew out two variations of Gryphons, Kelpie and a hybrid of a turtle monster. These are my Sketches of the Stylized Creature Concept in which I decided to go with the Aoise Kelpie, Aoi for short.
I polished the model and created the lineart of the Aoi Kelpie, a fariy hybrid creature mixed with the legendary Horse from Celtic mythology. I wanted to make them cute as was demonstrated from the sketches, to have them have butterfly wings, horse head and fish like body, then I was going to have horse arms with hooves, but went with them being more humanoid appendages for game purpose.

Next to the Concept image of Aoi Kelpie is the Enchanted Blue Forest where they live. The blue in the forest helps the Aoi Kelpie blend in with the environment adequately.
The Aoi Kelpie is a hybrid fantasy creature that will act as an companion and there will be more in the game that will act as random encounters. They are benevolent creatures and docile. The often play amongst each other but will be timid of other creatures in the land that is corrupted. They are the size of a squirrel and has qings to fly around and dance. They are omnivores, they eat plants and bugs. The small Kelpie companions are usually pets for the Elves and great companions. They are social creatures among each other. They roam around the forest, singing, dancing using their wings and tails, and they enjoy eating bugs or plants all while benefiting the forest with their magical essence to keep the forest alive. However, they are in hiding from other species due to the corruption of the land. To find another Aoi Kelpie would be a unique experience because they will interact with Aoi and the Protagonist in a friendly encounter. They will even drop hints to treasure or buffs. Wild Aoi Kelpie are not too different from the pets, as they are friendly and act more like puppies with unconditional love once you interact with them with kindness, but will hide once they get a sense of ill intentions from others.
The 3D Rendering of the Aoi Kelpie. I had a struggle with the pipeline of the Kelpie and the wings since they were thin, but I was able to get the model to look close to the concept design. The colors are also a nice touch of blues, greens and purples.
